As you age, chronic gum disease problems and tooth decay can compromise multiple teeth in your mouth. This can seriously impair your ability to chew food as well as cause you to slur your speech and pose other problems that limit your quality of life.

If you’ve lost two or more teeth in one area, Dr. Stephen Kwitnicki at Hilltop Dental in Union and Summit, New Jersey, may recommend having them restored with a removable, custom partial. This can effectively restore the full function and appearance of your teeth for the long term without the need for dental implants or a bridge.

In some cases, additional teeth might need to be extracted, if they too have been compromised by tooth decay. Once all the pertinent teeth have been addressed, Dr. Stephen Kwitnicki will make a detailed impression of your mouth. This will be sent to a dental lab where your new partial is created.

Even though the partial will be custom fit to the unique shape of your mouth, you might want to also apply a little denture adhesive for an extra secure hold. This also has the benefit of helping to block out stray food particles from getting between the base of the partial and your gums.

If you have several compromised teeth in one area of your mouth, please call our Hilltop Dental team in Union, New Jersey at 908-516-2906 to see if you’re a good candidate for a partial. Dr. Stephen Kwitnicki may even recommend a complete denture, if needed, to restore your smile if you are missing multiple teeth. Together we can restore your smile confidence!
