Holiday travel, installing decorations, and attending parties: the holidays aren’t always as relaxing as they first seem to be! As you’re taking the time to enjoy this holiday season, we hope that you continue practicing your dental hygiene routine to maximize the welfare of your teeth and gums. Here are some tips to keep you on track during the holidays:
Of course, as the saying goes, don’t forget to pack your toothbrush! Keeping a suitcase toothbrush, a little bit of floss and a tube of toothpaste in your toiletries kit should be an ultimate priority year-round. Take three minutes at the end of each day to brush and floss your teeth; you’ll be happy you did when you don’t have to get oral fillings! (If you have guests visiting, try leaving a few tubes of new toothpaste in the bathroom they’ll be using.) If you have a dental appointment scheduled during the holidays, ensure to keep it by scheduling your other to-dos around it. You won’t enjoy the holidays to their maximum with throbby teeth. Finally, avoid sugary foods like juices, candies and a few alcohols that can dry out your oral cavity and build plaque.
